Pai Gow Poker

Welcome to EmuCasino’s Pai Gow Poker room. After making its debut more than 25 years ago, Pai Gow Poker has been as popular as any other forms of poker which are much older. Pai Gow uses poker hands for its basic structure, and the player should know poker hand rankings before attempting to play the game. While a game of skill, most hands are obvious how to play, and it is not difficult to learn proper strategy for the rest of them. The player plays against the same dealer hand and the rate of game play is relatively slow, laid back with a lot of pushes, resulting in a low risk game.

A pack of 52 cards plus one joker is used. The player and the dealer are dealt 7 cards each. The player plays against the banker for the top hand by creating 2 sets of hands, a 2 card hand (also known as Low Hand) and a 5 card hand (known as a High hand). Pai Gow Poker at EmuCasino offers players an option ‘House Way’ which an option to let the cards be automatically arranged in this manner for cases where the player isn’t sure of the best strategy.

The High Hand must have a higher value than the Low Hand to qualify. Beat the banker with higher hands and win. If the player wins both comparisons, then the player will win even money on his bet, less a 5% commission. If the player wins one and loses one, then the bet shall push. If the player loses or ties both, then the player shall lose his wager. Before getting on any of the Pai Gow action, players will have to select a chip size and place it on the table as a bet. Chip sizes start from a small $1 bet all the way up to $500 bet per hand.

Special Features

The joker is a wild card which can be used only as an ace, or to complete a straight, a flush or a straight flush. The joker is available to both the player and the dealer.
