Canada Star Buchanan Likely to Join Inter Milan

Canada’s Tajon Buchanan is being pursued by Inter Milan as the Italian giants look to strengthen for the second half of the season.

The 24-year-old currently plays his football at Club Brugge but was not selected for their game against RWD Molenbeek on Friday. There have been suggestions this was due to fitness issues, but there is also a belief that he was left out due to ongoing negotiations over his transfer to Serie A.

Buchanan can play as a full-back, wing-back or winger on the right and represented his country at last year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Inter are looking for a more options on the right after Colombia veteran Juan Cuadrado was ruled out for several months through injury. They see Buchanan as having the ideal profile to adapt to the right wing-back role in their 3-5-2 system.

Buchanan’s contract with the Belgian club runs until 2025 and he has made it clear he will not be signing a new deal.

The player has scored three goals and provided four assists for his club this season across all competitions and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Buchanan has played 35 times for the Canada national team, scoring on four occasions.

Inter are four points clear of Juventus at the top of Serie A after 17 games.
