Return to the wilderness with a new grizzled companion in Iron Dog Studio’s latest game highlighting an iconic animal from North America.
Staying true to its nature-based theme, the Strike slot game series has charged back into the slot world with the 5-reel, 20-payline Grizzly Strike: Hold and Win, its third and latest instalment.
Iron Dog Studio has once again chosen to shine the spotlight on a majestic creature that calls the wilds of the North American frontier its home: the grizzly bear.
However, a new untamed star isn’t all this latest sequel has to offer players; they can look forward to rewarding features both familiar and not that will help them catch un-bear-ably large wins of up to 5,100x their bet.
Grizzly Strike: Hold and Win’s Exciting New Features
Like the first two instalments of the Strike slot series, Grizzly Strike: Hold and Win is set in the wilderness of North America and focuses on one of its most prominent residents.
As such, fans will more than likely find the slot’s base game to be rather familiar territory especially where its aesthetics and basic paying symbols are concerned.
However, things will heat up when two or more Grizzly Wild symbols land on a winning payline together and subsequently active the game’s titular Grizzly Strike feature. If this happens in the base game, there will be a respin before it is activated but no such thing will occur in the free spins bonus round.
In either case, the triggering of the feature will cause one of the Grizzly Wild symbols to turn into an Expanding Wild symbol and chase the other one(s) along a payline. As a Grizzly Wild symbol is chased off, it will leave other Grizzly Wild symbols in its wake on the reels that will potentially lead to more wins.
Additionally, the cash values of any nuggets it runs into will be collected and a multiplier will appear if it happens to encounter another Grizzly Wild symbol as it is running away.
A staple of the series, the special Strike nuggets have naturally returned and brought with them a unique alternate method of winning big in the game. Having a certain number of these nuggets land anywhere on the reels will reward players with one of the three payouts available as per below:
- 3 Strike nuggets: Mini Payout (50x the player’s bet)
- 4 Strike nuggets: Minor Payout (250x the player’s bet)
- 5 Strike nuggets: Major Payout (1,000x the player’s bet)
If any combination of six or more special golden nuggets and Strike nuggets land on the reels, the game’s Hold and Win feature will be triggered. When this happens, the nuggets will turn sticky and remain where they are on the reels. Three free spins are awarded at the beginning and this counter will be reset if any new nuggets land to occupy the reels’ previously empty spaces.
Should all the positions on the reels come to be filled, the player’s total win amount will be multiplied. However, the number and type of nuggets that have landed will determine the multiplier according to the rules below:
- Less than five of the nuggets are special Strike nuggets: 2x total win multiplier
- Five or more of the nuggets are special Strike nuggets: 5x total win multiplier
Last but not least are the game’s Scatter symbols which are the ticket to triggering the game’s free spins bonus round. The number of them that land will determine the number of free spins awarded as per below:
- 3 Scatter symbols: 5 free spins
- 4 Scatter symbols: 10 free spins
- 5 Scatter symbols: 15 free spins
It should be noted that it is possible for the game’s Hold and Win feature to be activated during the free spins bonus round.
