The Strike slot game series is storming back out for a final hurrah with its fourth and final instalment: the 5-reel, 40-payline Stampeding Strike.
Iron Dog Studio has made several games highlighting the beautiful creatures of the North American wilderness and this final Strike slot game is not any different. This time, they have focused on the great water buffalo along with a few other common critters.
To honour its predecessors, this game brings back the iconic animals of the previous Strike slot games in a thrilling mix of old mechanics and innovative new gameplay, and tops it off with a chance to win 10,000x your bet.
Stampeding Strike’s Exciting New Features
Following in the footsteps of the previous Strike slot series entries, Stampeding Strike takes place in the landscape of the North American wilderness. Although the water buffalo may seem to be the main focus, this instalment actually takes a wider look at more of the animals that call this sun-kissed prairie home.
Fans of the Strike series will find themselves on familiar ground and perhaps find comfort in the similar aesthetic and reel design in this iteration. However, this game stands out from its predecessors with its plethora of new features and references to the previous instalments.
Things start to get exciting during the base game when the Stampede feature activates where a giant dust cloud will dash across the reels and expand reels 2, 3 or 4 by 2 extra symbols for a total of 6 symbols.
Only one or up to all three reels may be expanded in this feature, increasing the number of paylines to the following:
- 1 expanded reel: 44 paylines
- 2 expanded reels: 50 paylines
- 3 expanded reels: 60 paylines
This stampede can happen randomly on any spin and will last for that single spin so it’s important to stay on your toes so you don’t get trampled!
Additionally, the iconic Strike nuggets and special golden nuggets make a comeback in this instalment to offer even more ways to win big. When a certain number of the special Strike nuggets land anywhere on the reels, the player will be awarded three possible types of payouts as follows:
- 3 Strike nuggets: Mini Payout (50x the player’s bet)
- 4 Strike nuggets: Minor Payout (250x the player’s bet)
- 5 Strike nuggets: Major Payout (1,000x the player’s bet)
Any combination of six or more special Golden nuggets and special Strike nuggets landing on the reels will trigger the game’s Hold and Win feature. The nuggets will become sticky and remain on the reels for the duration of this feature.
The player will be awarded 3 free spins at the beginning of the Hold and Win feature and the spins will be reset to 3 if any new nuggets land on the previously empty spots.
If all the positions on the reels are filled, the player’s total win amount will be multiplied by an amount that is determined by the number and type of nuggets that have landed on the reels as per below:
- Less than five special Strike nuggets: 2x total win multiplier
- Five or more special Strike nuggets: 5x total win multiplier
The game really stands out from its predecessors with its Free Spins mode which incorporates elements from the previous Strike slot games to bring the whole North American wilderness together. The Free Spins bonus round is triggered by landing three or more Scatter symbols on the reels and the number of free spins awarded is based on the number of Scatter symbols that land as per below:
- 3 Scatter symbols: 8 free spins
- 4 Scatter symbols: 12 free spins
- 5 Scatter symbols: 20 free spins
At the start of the Free Spins mode, a random Feature Wild will be chosen and reels 2, 3 and 4 will be expanded for the duration of the feature. The Feature Wilds may seem a little familiar to Strike series fans as they bring back the unique capabilities of the Eagle, Wolf and Grizzly Bear in the Free Spins bonus game.
The Wolf Wild will expand to a height of 3 spaces when it lands on the reels. If it expands over a special Golden nugget, it will collect the nugget’s cash value and award it to the player.
The Eagle Wild also expands to a height of 3 spaces when it appears on the reels. If there is no winning combination when it expands, an extra free spin will be awarded.
When 2 or more Grizzly Wilds land on the centre three reels, one Grizzly Wild will expand and chase the other Grizzly Wilds off the reels. The Grizzly Wilds will leave a trail of Wilds in their wake as they flee the board. If a fleeing Grizzly Wild runs over a nugget symbol, it will collect the nugget’s cash value. The fleeing Grizzly Wild will also increase the multiplier of Wild symbols and other Grizzly Wild symbols that it passes over by 1x.
Do note that it is possible for the game’s Hold and Win feature to be activated during the free spins bonus round.
